Libu Lakhi: Namuyi Tibetan Collection

The World Oral Literature Project is pleased to host the collection of Libu Lakhi. Details of the full collection can be browsed on DSpace@Cambridge by clicking here.

This collection contains two movies (each approximately an hour long) of cultural revitalization activities held in Dashui Village (Minsheng Township, Xichang City, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, PR China). In 2010, a story-telling competition and a folk-song singing competition were held in Dashui Village to encourage use of the Namuyi language and pride in local traditions. The story-telling competition contains seven stories in the Namuyi language. Special thanks to Kalle Mattila, Kaarina Sergejeff, and Nadjia Nowak of Finland who made this project possible.

1. Namuyi Song Contest 纳木依的唱歌比赛 ཎ་མུ་ཞིའི་གླུ་གཞས་འགྲན་བསྡུར།
With a small grant from private donors in August 2010, Libu Lakhi, a local native, was able to organize and hold this song and dance competition performance. This song and dance competition was held in Dashui Village, Xichang City in Sichuan Province with the objective of revitalizing local traditional cultures in their own context by rewarding a small amount of money to excellent singers with the aim of stimulating local people, especially the young generation, to pay attention to their traditional culture. 在二零一零年的八月份通过一位捐赠者的一些钱,当地的李建福组织了这个唱歌和跳舞的表演比赛。这是在四川省西昌市的大水村举办的表演。以复兴当地的传统文化为目的,并 通过奖励优秀的歌手激励当地人,尤其是年轻的一代让他们关注传统文化。 འདི་ནི་ཉིས་སྟོང་བཅུ་ལོའི་ཟླ་བརྒྱད་པར་ས་གནས་ཀྱི་མི་སྟེ་ཟླ་བ་བསྟན་འཛིན་གྱིས་སྦྱིན་བདག་ཞིག་གི་བྱིན་པའི་དངུལ་ཉུང་ངུ་ཞིག་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་གླུ་གར་གྱི་འཁྲབ་སྟོན་འགྲན་ཚོགས་འདི་བཀོད་སྒྲིག་བྱས་པ་རེད། གླུ་གར་གྱི་འགྲན་བསྡུར་འདི་ནི་སི་ཁྲོན་ཞིང་ཆེན་ཞི་ཁྲང་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་གྱི་ཏ་ཧྲོས་སྡེ་བ་ནས་ཚོགས་པ་ཡིན་ལ་ས་གནས་ཀྱི་སྲོལ་རྒྱུན་རིག་གནས་སླར་གསོ་བྱེད་པར་དམིགས་ཏེ་གླུ་བའི་བཟང་ངན་གྱི་གོ་རིམ་ལྟར་དགའ་རྟགས་རེ་བྱིན་པ་དང་ཆབས་ཅིག་སྡེ་མི་ཚོས་ས་གནས་ཀྱི་སྲོལ་རྒྱུན་རིག་གནས་ལ་གདེངས་འཇོག་བྱེད་པར་དམིིགས་པ་ཡིན།

2. Namuyi Tibetan Folktales 纳木依藏族的民间故事 ཎ་མུ་ཞི་བོད་ཀྱི་དམངས་ཁྲོད་གཏམ་རྒྱུད།
The first story describes the origin of Namuyi people in the marriage of a sky maiden with a human man. 第一个故事讲述了纳木依藏族是从哪儿来的,并且怎样延续了后代。怎样凡间的男子和仙女结为夫妻。 གཏམ་རྒྱུད་དང་པོའི་ནང་དུ་ཎ་མུ་ཞི་བོད་མི་རྣམས་གང་ནས་ཡོང་བ་ཡིན་པ་དང་ཁོ་ཚོའི་མི་རབས་རྗེས་མ་ཅི་ལྟར་དར་པའི་ཚུལ། ད་དུང་འཇིག་རྟེན་སྟེང་གི་མི་དང་ལྷ་མོ་གཉིས་ཅི་ལྟར་གཉེན་སྒྲིག་བྱས་པ་ཡིན་ཚུལ་བརྗོད།

The second story relates the history of Namuyi clans. 第二个故事讲述了纳木依藏族的家族史和说明了每一个家族是怎样传承下来的。 གཏམ་རྒྱུད་གཉིས་པའི་ནང་དུ་ཎ་མུ་ཞི་བོད་ཀྱི་ཁྱིམ་རྒྱུད་ལོ་རྒྱུས་བརྗོད་ཡོད་ལ་ཁྱིམ་རྒྱུད་རེ་རེ་ཅི་ལྟར་དར་པའི་སྐོར་བརྗོད་ཡོད།

The third story is about how Namuyi people fought with local Han, lost, and then fled to their current location. 第三个故事讲述了关于纳木依人们和当地的汉族之间的战斗,纳木依人们战败后到处流浪,最终在一个山沟里定居了。 གཏམ་རྒྱུད་གསུམ་པའི་ནང་དུ་ཎ་མུ་ཞི་བོད་མི་དང་ས་གནས་ཀྱི་རྒྱ་རིགས་འཐབ་རྩོད་བྱས་ནས་ཎ་མུ་ཞི་བོད་ཕམ་པས་གང་ས་གང་དུ་ལྡོམ་པ་དང་མཇུག་མཐར་ལུང་བ་ཞིག་ནང་ནས་གནས་སྡོད་བྱས་པ་རེད།

The fifth story is about an orphan who worked as a slave for a local lord. 第五个故事讲述关于一个孤儿,作为仆人服侍当地的贵族,并描述了孤儿艰难的痛苦阶段。 གཏམ་རྒྱུད་ལྔ་བའི་ནང་དུ་དྭ་ཕྲུག་ཞིག་གཡོག་པོའི་ཚུལ་དུ་ས་གནས་ཀྱི་བདག་པོ་ཞིག་ལ་ཞབས་འདེགས་ཞུ་བ་དང་དྭ་ཕྲུག་གི་དཀའ་སྡུག་གི་འཚོ་བ་བརྗོད་ཡོད།

The sixth story is about a monster called Tshoromi that had long breasts. There were both good and evil Tshoromi, and this story describes a friendship between a girl and a good Tshoromi. 在第六个故事里讲述了有一个妖怪叫做措若米有很长的乳房。那里有两种类型的措若米,好的那个会交朋友,而坏的那个措若米吃人肉。这是关于善良的措若米和一个女孩的友情。 སྒྲུང་གཏམ་དྲུག་པའི་ནང་དུ་ནུ་མ་རིང་བོ་ཅན་གྱི་བདུད་ཀྱི་མིང་ལ་ཚོ་རོ་མེ་ཟེར་པ་ཞིག་ཡོད་པ་བརྗོད་པ་ཡིན་ལ། འདིར་ཚོ་རོ་མེ་ལ་རིགས་གཉིས་ཡོད་དེ་གཅིག་ནི་བཟང་པོ་ཡིན་པ་དང་མི་རྣམས་དང་གྲོགས་བསྒྲིགས་པ་ཡིན། གཞན་པ་ནི་ངན་པ་ཡིན་ལ་མིའི་ཤ་བཟའ་བ་ཡིན། སྒྲུང་གཏམ་འདི་ནི་ཚོ་རོ་མེ་ལེགས་པོ་དང་བུ་མོ་ཞིག་གི་བར་གྱི་མཛའ་བརྩེ་བརྗོད་པ་ཡིན།

The last story describes the relationship between an orphan and earthworm. The orphan raised the worm and the worm magically repaid the orphan. 最后的故事是有个一个孤儿和蚯蚓之间的关系。这个讲了孤儿怎样养大了蚯蚓,而蚯蚓又怎样神奇般地报答了孤儿。 མཇུག་མཐའི་སྒྲུང་གཏམ་འདི་ནི་དྭ་ཕྲུག་དང་ས་འབུ་ཞིག་གི་བར་ཀྱི་འབྲེལ་བ་བརྗོད་པ་ཞིག་ཡིན་ལ་འདིས་དྭ་ཕྲུག་གིས་ཅི་ལྟར་ས་འབུ་བསྐྱངས་པ་དང་ས་འབུས་ཡང་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་བཞིན་དྭ་ཕྲུག་ལ་དྲིན་ལན་འཇལ་བ་བརྗོད་ཡོད།
