About : Our Funding
The World Oral Literature Project has been established with the generous initial support of the Firebird Foundation for Anthropological Research. We are also grateful to the Charles E. Chadwyck-Healey Charitable Trust, Dr Laura Appell-Warren and Dr John Warren, the Leverhulme Trust and the Onaway Trust for providing additional resourcing and support.
Support in kind
The Project remains very grateful to individuals and organisations for providing our initiative with in-kind support, in particular Olympus for their generous donation of field recorders for our grantees and partners, and Bluake International, our media partner in China, with whom we are working on an outreach programme in China.

In 2010, to support the work of the World Oral Literature Project, the Vanishing Worlds Foundation was established. The Foundation is a not for profit company limited by guarantee, registered in England (No.7265872) and registered as a charity with the Charity Commission (No.1137925). A major fundraising drive is planned for 2011. Please click here to download a PDF copy of our new brochure.
Help us to collect and protect the Voices of Vanishing Worlds
Thank you for visiting our website to find out more about the World Oral Literature Project, our efforts to document and make accessible endangered oral literature and how you can help. This important work cannot continue without the financial support of individuals and institutions who believe that valuing and documenting linguistic and cultural diversity is a goal in itself.
We are urgently seeking additional funding to increase the number of endangered oral traditions that we can document and protect, and time is running out. Donations will be directed to core activities: providing grants to fieldworkers, archiving and publishing recordings of oral literature, and offering training workshops.
We are open to discussing partnerships or collaborations with like-minded corporations, institutions, and foundations. Please contact us and become part of this exciting endeavour.
Donations are also accepted online, using the links below. British tax payers may qualify for Gift Aid making their donations worth up to 28% more through this link:
